Kraftstoffsäule

This is a post-carbon floor lamp that illuminates the void.

The "fuel column" consists of recycled elements. A dismantled gas pipe from a Berlin apartment building balances on a brake disk; a red diesel canister hangs from it at the end. This light does not illuminate; it is a luminous object and glows from within. The diesel canister - a find from the former US surveillance station at Teufelsberg in Berlin - appears to tip the scales. But does it also look as if it has just been filled up? No, it is empty - and should remain so forever. That's the point!

"Kraftstoffsäule" is a floor lamp. It is 235 cm high, 70 cm wide and 32 cm deep and runs on 24V. It is made from recycled materials and is handmade. All rights reserved - Copyright.
